Vestigia ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with global 2026 AI Ethics and Data Protection mandates (including EU AI Act and GDPR frameworks). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Account Information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we collect your name and email address solely for secure authentication and state-syncing purposes. You may also use the app without signing in: a temporary "Guest Explorer" account is created automatically and stores no email address. Guests can later link their Google or Apple account to keep their progress.
Camera & AI Analysis: To identify historical landmarks, we access your device camera. Photos are processed in real-time by AI to determine architectural features. Note: We do NOT perform facial recognition, iris scanning, or any form of biometric identification. In accordance with 2026 privacy laws, we minimize data collection to the absolute necessity for landmark identification.
Location: With your permission, we access your device location to improve landmark identification accuracy, for example when identifying a building that is not a famous monument. Your approximate city and country may be used as context for AI analysis. Location is never used for continuous real-time movement tracking.
Landmark identification is powered by Google Gemini AI. In compliance with 2026 transparency standards:
We implement a "Data Minimization" philosophy. We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active. Non-identifiable metadata about landmarks discovered may be retained to improve historical records for all users.
You have the full right to be forgotten. You can delete your account and all associated data instantly through the "Settings" menu in the App or by contacting us at hello@vestigia-ai.com. Deletion requests are processed within 48 hours.
