1. Service Description

Vestigia is a historical landmark discovery app that uses AI-powered image recognition to identify and provide information about historical structures, monuments, and cultural sites.

2. User Accounts

• You may use Vestigia as a guest or create an account
• Guest accounts have limited features (max 5 saved places)
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• Vestigia reserves the right to terminate accounts violating these terms

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the service for illegal purposes
• Upload inappropriate, offensive, or copyrighted content
• Attempt to reverse engineer or hack the application
• Use automated systems to access the service
• Harass other users or support team

4. Camera and Photo Usage

• Photos you capture are processed by Google's Gemini AI for landmark identification
• The AI analyzes architectural and historical features only
• Vestigia does NOT perform facial recognition on any photos
• Incidental capture of bystanders in public spaces may occur

5. User Content

• Photos saved to your journal are stored in Firebase
• You retain ownership of your photos
• By using the service, you grant Vestigia license to process your photos for service functionality
• Vestigia does not sell or share your photos with third parties

6. Intellectual Property

• Vestigia and its content are protected by intellectual property rights
• Historical information provided is for educational purposes
• AI-generated descriptions may contain inaccuracies

7. Disclaimers

• Vestigia does not guarantee accuracy of AI-generated information
• Historical facts should be verified with official sources
• Navigation features are for reference only
• We may earn a commission from affiliate links (e.g., ticket bookings) at no extra cost to you. This helps support the development of our application. We only recommend experiences that we believe add value to your travel.

8. Limitation of Liability

Vestigia is not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data or service interruptions
• Actions taken based on AI-provided information

9. Changes to Terms

Vestigia may update these terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.

10. User Data and Account Deletion

• You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time.
• In-App Deletion: You can delete your account directly through the "Settings" section in your Profile. This action is permanent and will remove all your saved places, badges, and progress.
• Manual Request: If you cannot access the app or prefer a manual request, please email us at hello@vestigia-ai.com.
• Upon deletion, all your personal information, including email, journal entries, and stored photos, will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
